Inside the avant-garde aesthetic of the in.FIEU art space, the latest episode of the Wedding Bliss podcast unfolds an inspiring conversation with Kim Pham, the visionary Founder of Je t’aime Art. With nearly 14 years dedicated to the craft, Kim has redefined the domestic wedding landscape, shifting the paradigm from event decoration to the curation of bespoke masterpieces.

Je t’aime Art stands as more than a high-end luxury decor brand; it represents a conceptual intersection where cutting-edge creativity meets ancestral tradition to elevate Vietnamese heritage. Beyond his event portfolio, this dialogue explores Kim’s latest endeavor: FIEU—a collective established to champion local creative enterprise across multi-disciplinary industries. Against the backdrop of in.FIEU’s contemporary Vietnamese tearoom, we delve into the cultural narratives this community vows to preserve and propel into the future.

Deciphering Raw Textures to Shape Living Dreams

“For the most part, we spend our lives living out the expectations of others,” Kim reflects. “But a wedding is perhaps the singular day where we truly deserve to live entirely for our own dreams.”

Wedding Concept: “Bloom & Fly”

Through years of walking alongside couples and absorbing their intimate love stories, Kim and his collective have stepped into countless distinct dreamscapes. Every couple introduces a different raw medium—ranging from highly idiosyncratic emotional blueprints to avant-garde artistic perspectives. The team internalizes these nuances, translating them into cohesive wedding concepts where even the most microscopic detail mirrors the couple’s identity, naturally evoking a visceral response from their guests.

“When people think of wedding design, the mind immediately defaults to florals,” Kim notes. “To me, flowers are a timeless, classic medium, but they shouldn’t dictate the boundaries of design. When botanicals intersect with unexpected materials, they elevate one another. In fact, even in the complete absence of flowers, structural mediums can command a space and articulate a love story in an incredibly profound way.”

Wedding Concept: “Better Together”

Armed with a radical perspective and an unyielding commitment to original design, Je t’aime Art has chiseled its reputation through audacious, high-concept executions. By honoring the emotional resonance between physical textures and human narrative, the studio continuously tests the limits of spatial design.

Yet, pure innovation is rarely a linear path. The team frequently grapples with volatile, hyper-specific materials, facing the ultimate design dilemma: how to manipulate a medium while preserving its raw, unadulterated essence. These challenges serve as the catalyst for their evolution. Every encounter with a new medium—particularly translucent and light-refracting elements—demands months of rigorous architectural experimentation. The result is a signature aesthetic that embraces “beautifully raw, textured imperfections,” delivering an unparalleled sensory experience.

The Evolution of an Identity

Nearly 14 years ago, both Je t’aime Art and the broader concept of destination wedding styling were in their infancy within Vietnam. The studio’s pursuit of a definitive identity was forged through severe market turbulence, with each era marking pivotal internal transformations.

“In the early days, I constantly had to improvise and fabricate alternative materials because the local supply chain was virtually non-existent,” Kim recalls. “I was forced to replicate international trends, but those early iterations were clumsy and lacked refinement. There were moments of profound self-doubt, where my resolve to remain radically different began to waver.

Ultimately, it was a solid seven years of grit, financial risk, and artistic stubbornness that solidified Je t’aime Art’s signature handwriting. The ultimate fruition of this endurance came with the milestone concept, “You Are My Universe”—a production that shattered conventional event boundaries by incorporating radical industrial mediums, offering the market an entirely new artistic vocabulary.

This breakthrough vindicated Kim’s stubborn belief in his vision, empowering the studio to confidently pursue increasingly disruptive, avant-garde installations.

From International Galas to the Orchestration of Scenography

Having mastered the domestic luxury tier, Je t’aime Art entered a sophisticated new chapter: orchestrating a multi-day Indian destination wedding marathon featuring 11 distinct, high-scale galas. Entrusted with 9 out of the 11 events, the studio finally realized a long-held ambition: weaving authentic Vietnamese cultural identity into an ultra-luxury international production.

For the first time, Kim and his artisans seamlessly integrated traditional Vietnamese craft textures into high-concept South Asian rituals, captivating hundreds of international high-society guests. The objective extended far beyond mere decoration; it served as a cultural diplomatic pipeline, showcasing Vietnam’s landscapes, rich heritage, and sophisticated creative capabilities to the global elite.

Executing a production of this magnitude required months of grueling logistics, with the team racing against the clock to deliver massive structural fabrications just before the 2024 Lunar New Year. Success hinged on harmonious collaboration between Je t’aime Art’s core design team and regional master artisans, culminating in a triumph of pure aesthetic devotion.

Wedding Art Gallery: “Wedding Symphony”

This creative momentum has naturally spilled over into commercial art exhibitions and large-scale scenography. From “Wedding Symphony”—an experiential exhibition designed to engage all five human senses—to monumental interior installations at the historic Union Square building, the studio continues to scale its emotional impact. A recent pinnacle includes directing the 10th-anniversary concert scenography for celebrated Vietnamese composer Phan Manh Quynh.

The centerpiece—a striking, avant-garde interpretation of a winter locomotive—was not merely a structural set piece; it served as a visual metaphor for the composer’s discography, mapping the seasonal shifts of his career. Despite a razor-thin production timeline, Je t’aime Art delivered an evocative, atmospheric environment where architecture and sound dissolved into one another.

FIEU: A Vanguard Collective for Vietnamese Creatives

Following the completion of every complex production, Kim pauses to reflect on the unsung heroes of the process: the traditional master craftsmen scattered across Vietnam’s provinces. These artisans breathe life into raw stone, plaster, and timber, providing the artisanal backbone for Je t’aime Art’s most intricate environments.

Kim observes that while contemporary Vietnamese event design continues to absorb global influences, the country is rapidly transforming into a premium global destination for culturally rich experiential events. This realization sparked the genesis of FIEU and its physical headquarters, in.FIEU. As the driving force behind this movement, Kim envisions FIEU as a prestigious emblem of modern Vietnamese innovation, designed to institutionalize local heritage and position it prominently on the global creative map.

While FIEU operates as a professional collective connecting nationwide creative minds, in.FIEU serves as their physical sanctuary—an intersection where fine art, indigenous agricultural products, and visionary minds converge.

The collective’s emblem is the wild thorny bamboo (tre gai)—a plant deeply woven into the Vietnamese subconscious, symbolizing humility and unyielding structural strength. Each segment of the bamboo represents an individual creator; when bound together, they form an unbreakable, towering network. Under Kim’s stewardship, this collective spirit aims to ensure that contemporary Vietnamese design continues to ascend—bold, resilient, and fiercely proud.
